Mini Lush Haul

Do you guys remember the Valentine’s Day inspired Lush Haul that I posted just before Valentine’s? Well I’ve exercised inhuman self restraint, and actually haven’t been into Lush since then. I know, that’s insane, what the heck?

Well recently I decided that it had been too long since I’d been into Lush and shared with you guys what I’d bought, so that’s what I’m doing today!

I didn’t pick up very much because I do have a lot of bath products around at the moment, so I didn’t want to go overboard.IMG_2431Ceridwens Cauldron Bath Melt | After briefly talking to the assistant in Lush, we’d established that I like baths to be relaxing and moisturising, and I wanted to try out some products that had been newly introduced since my last visit. The assistant recommended this bath melt to me because it consists mainly of oats and cocoa butter, it’s perfect for sensitive skin. This bath melt is also reusable because it’s in a cloth bag, so you can just bob it around the top of your bath, lightly infusing it with the oats and cocoa butter, and use it directly onto your skin to lightly exfoliate and moisturise, all in one go!

Twilight Bath Bomb | Even the name of this bath bomb inspires the idea of relaxation and sleep. And that’s the entire purpose of this product. The fragrance itself is another element that has been designed to help you sleep, as lavender is a soothing and relaxing fragrance, used in aromatherapy to treat insomnia and aid restful sleep. I decided to pick this one up because, although it’s not new, I haven’t used it before, so I thought I’d try it out! I’m a big fan of a lavender scent, because I do find it to be insanely relaxing, and a perfect scent for just before bed.IMG_2435Sakura Bath Bomb | It’s not secret that I love Japan and cherry blossoms, to this bat bomb was another no brainer for me to pick up. At first I thought that this bath bomb was just really pretty, but then when I smelt it, I realised that the scent was unusually uplifting and strong. Lush describes it as “Calming mimosa and jasmine oils are complemented by lemon oil and orange flower to bring to mind the smell of this colourful season.” and I think that perfectly embodies how this bath bomb smells, it’s incredibly fresh and uplifting, perfect for a bath first thing in the morning.

Yoga Bomb Bath Bomb | This is another bath bomb that I hadn’t tried before, but had been tempted by. The sales assistant told me that this bath bomb is perfect for detoxing and after working out, hence the name. And as this bath bomb is so usually overlooked, I’m going to share a little secret with you. It isn’t just an orange bath bomb. Once it begins fizzing, it actually turns your bath into an array of orange, turquoise and purple shades, so give it a go!

That’s everything I picked up in Lush, I know, you can applaud at how much self restraint I showed, ha! I hope you enjoyed this post and I convinced you to try out some products that you’ve overlooked or have been meaning to try for a long time.

What is your favourite Lush product of all time?

2015 Highlights

Hello everyone! It’s the start of a new year, so that of course means I’m going to talk about my favourites from the last year!

I’ve included random favourites as well as beauty favourites, but I have limited myself, because if I was going to talk about everything I loved from this past year, we’d be here until Halloween.

So here we go with my 2015 (almagamated) favourites!IMG_0496BEAUTY

Urban Decay’s Naked 3 Palette | Yes, as this past year was the year I started my blog, I thus opened my eyes to the world of Urban Decay, and naturally, the famous Naked 3. I am so glad I invested in this palette because it has everything you could need in a palette, whether you’re new to makeup, or much more confident in it. These rose-gold hues really do live up to the hype, and the lasting power (when used in conjunction with Urban Decay’s primer) is unreal.

Estée Lauder All Over Face Compact | This compact is another great all-occasions-product. The bronzer is my favourite bronzer to use for contouriing and adding some dimension and colour to a base, and the variations of blusher colour are great to adapt to different looks.

Maybelline’s Lash Sensational Mascara | I tried this mascara out reasonably early in the year, and I haven’t bought another one since. It creates a false-lash look, without the mess/hassle of applying falsies!

Collection’s 24 Hour Extreme Felt Liner | As if I haven’t already spoken enough about this eyeliner. It’s my lifetime favourite, not just from 2015. You can hear plenty more about it HERE, HERE and HERE.

Rimmel Lipstick in #700 ‘Naughty Nude’ | I’ve always been after a nude colour to suit my skin tone, and holy heck have Rimmel found it. So if you are also looking for the perfect nude, and we have similar colouring, definitely check out the ‘Only 1’ range.

Maybelline Baby Lips | The best chapstick on the market. I also really like that they are available in different colours, so you can have a slight tint to your lips without having to use a lipstick as well as a chapstick.

Makeup Revolution Highlighter in ‘Pink Lights’ | This is one of the prettiest and most affordable drugstore highlighters. It looks beautiful, and you only need a light swipe of it for it to really shine.

Dead Sea Mud Masks | I picked these up one day because they are really cheap, and you get 2 masks in a pack, so I thought I’d try them out. In fact, you can generously get 4 masks out of these 2 packs, so it’s even better value for money! These masks are perfect for a pamper night while you’re in the bath, or just a quick mask before bed. They’re very refreshing and cooling, so also suitable for all skin types.

Lush’s ‘Shoot For The Stars’ Bath Bomb | Again, perfect for a pamper night. I think my love for the sea means I have a deeper love for blue bath bombs, because it turns your bath into a gorgeous clear-blue sea colour. An the added sparkle just makes the whole thing a dream, come on.

Bluetooth Speaker | These speakers are amazing. I know they’re nothing new, but I am now old enough to be fascinated by the fact that the music is being transported through the air from my phone/laptop to this speaker. It’s also surprisingly loud in comparison to it’s size!

Nivea Sensitive Day Moisturiser | Once I’d realised the error of my ways with using Nivea’s ordinary moisturiser in my regular skincare routine (clogged pores, greasiness, makeup sliding!) I wanted to find a much lighter and gentler moisturiser to use daily. And this moisturiser is the ideal one! It’s light enough to be used regularly, and not clog your pores.

Sparkly Shoes | 2015 was the year I widened my shoe-horizon and discovered a world outside of dolly shoes and heels, and by far, these sparkly flats are my new favourite type of shoes. They are insanely comfortable, and look fabulous, let’s not deny that.

Makeup Brushes | What with starting my blog, I saw the taboo of using the makeup sponges that come with almost every eyeshadow palette, and discovered the world of makeup brushes. This set came with 15 brushes, everything you’d need to start out with makeup, from Amazon!IMG_0707Scarf | This scarf is amazing. It keeps you ridiculously warm when you need it, but also doubles as a blanket during lectures. So that’s all very good, and much more than you expect from a scarf, for sure.

Backpack | My little backpack is definitely my favourite bag from 2015. It’s practical and cute. All of the compartments and pockets means that even the contents of my bag are sorted into categories, how exciting!

Space Flask | Again, perfect for when you’ve got 10am lectures and your brain likes to come through at roughly 11am. I really like this design from Paperchase, and it’s available in multiple products, I’ve actually got a matching poster because I like to rep space, it’s pretty cool after all.

THAT’S IT! Phew, well done everyone for making it through that, it was certainly a recount of an entire year if ever there was one. Again, I’m going to soppily thank you all for reading this lil site, it means a lot to me. At the end of this month, Organicbynerve is going to be turning 1, and I can’t wait to celebrate that with every one of you!

BLOGMAS Day 7 // Winter & Christmas Lush Haul

Hey guys! As we all know that Lush have brought out their Christmas and Winter collections, featuring many old favourites, and some new exciting products, I thought today I’d take you through some of my favourite Winter and Christmas products from this year! This is the biggest Lush haul I have ever done, so let’s jump right into the products!

Winter & Christmas Lush Haul Winter & Christmas Lush HaulWinter

Big Shampoo | This shampoo will transform your hair. During these colder months, I find that my hair tends to go rather limp, and it becomes very difficult to style. But this sea salt shampoo massages and invigorates your scalp when you use it, causing the root of the hair to lift and have more hold. I absolutely love it.

Big Bang Bubble Bar | With the scent of grapefruit oil, and added avocado butter to nourish and moisturise the skin (not to mention a space theme!) I love everything about this bubble bar. As always, just crumble as much of the product that you desire under running water, and enjoy your bubble bath!

Shoot For The Stars Bath Bomb | Brace yourselves, but this may just be my favourite Lush product of all time. (I still love you Karma & Rose Jam!) Again, it’s space themed so that’s a major plus for me, but this bath bomb holds within it something that I adore, the night sky. The tagline for this bath bomb is “Paint the night sky” and it really lives up to that, turning your bath into a gorgeous pool of lavender, blues and pinks.

Candy Mountain Bubble Bar | This bubble bar is adorable and comforting, so very often just what we could do with at the end of a very long working week. It’s also quite a safe bet to be a widely popular product, because it’s vanilla scented, so it’s not overly powerful or harsh to smell.

Magic Wand Bubble Bar | This magic wand really is magic. Just swirl it around in your bath, and it’ll create a gorgeous, cotton candy scented pink bubble bath! I’d also recommend these wands because they are incredibly long lasting. If like me, you all too often end up using a bubble bar in one bath, instead of breaking it into two or three baths, these wands really stand the test of time, because you’re not breaking it up, you’re just swirling it around.

5 Gold Rings Bubble Bar | Just like the wands, I really like this bubble bar because it lasts much longer than an ordinary bubble bar, as it’s already split into five very handy sections. This bubble bar is also vanilla scented, so it’s also a perfect Christmas gift for anyone who loves bubble baths, but might find many Lush products a bit too strong scent-wise.

Peeping Santa Bubble Bar | His eyes are chocolate. Need I say more? Now I know you won’t be eating it, but there’s definitely something so extravagant and fabulous as knowing that you’re bathing in dairy free chocolate and hand-churned Shea butter, this bubble bar is not only extremely Christmassy and adorable, but the very definition of Treat. Yo. Self.

Snow Angel Bath Melt | This product is a little different. As it’s not a bath bomb or a bubble bar, you don’t have to crumble it up or pop it in your bath and watch the fizzing and swirling ensue. No, this is a bath melt, which means it assists in melting away all of your tension and stress, and that’s before you’re even in the bath! This bath melt quite literally floats atop the water, slowly melting and producing the most glistening and glimmering layer of snow on the surface of the water. It also contains cocoa butter, which is incredibly moisturising for the skin, with a scent of marzipan and rose. This bath melt is a Christmas miracle.

Father Christmas Bath Bomb | Once you’ve looked at this bath bomb, you might have pictured what you’d expect from it. Well all I can say is, throw those preconceptions away, because it’s almost 100% guaranteed that you are entirely wrong about it. This peach and white bath bomb, is actually, the deepest, most vibrant green you could ever imagine bathing in. I adore it when Lush surprise us with a bath bomb like this, because it’s like being let in on a little secret. Again, another very sweet candy floss scented bath bomb, this is definitely one of my Christmas favourites.

Luxury Lush Pud Bath Bomb | A magnificent burst of colour in an otherwise very dull and lifeless winter evening. This bath bomb is just what you need to lift your spirits, while relaxing you with a calming lavender scent at the same time. I think this bath bomb would actually make a great gift for a first time Lush user, as it’s fun and bright, but not strong or complicated, just pop it in the bath and you’re a Lush pro!

Magic Of Christmas Wand Bubble Bar | With cinnamon and almond scents, this bubble wand smells like the epitome of Christmas baking. Again, I’d recommend these bubble wands because they are so long lasting, and let’s be honest, super fun to use.

That’s it for my Winter & Christmas Lush Haul, let me know if you’ve got any recommendations of anything I haven’t mentioned in the comments. You can see my previous Lush haul HERE. As always, I have linked all of the products I’ve mentioned to Lush’s site, if you’d like to treat yourself to some of the goodies I have featured!

New Lush Products | The Summer Collection Reveal

Fotor0817114725new lush products haulRecently Lush have just brought out their summer collection! So, keen to have a look, I grabbed some from the new collection, alongside some of my trusty regular favourites, to talk about for you guys today.new lush products first impressionsFrozen bath bomb lushFrozen Bath Bomb | “Do you want to have a bath bomb? Do you want to splash and play?” This bath bomb, much like the movie it’s based on, is utterly mesmerising. With the uplifting scent of grapefruit oil, combined with the inside packed with silver glitter, when having a bath with this bath bomb; you really will let everything go. (I think this would be a favourite for Evie and Ruby, my cousins!)Intergalactic bath bomb lush Intergalactic Bath Bomb | This bath bomb is very quietly creeping into my favourite bath bomb spot. With it’s name, and a description of “Ever wondered what bathing in deep space would be like? Invite the cosmos into your bathroom with this sexy, interstellar bomb and become the guardian of your own galaxy.” This bath bomb caters to many of my greatest loves. It’s colourful, galaxy-themed and smells like peppermint.rose jam bubble bar lushRose Jam Bubbleroon | Do you want to feel as though you’ve just been moisturised from the heavens and given a bunch of flowers? Then this is the bubbleroon for you. Essentially a bubble bar, but shaped like a macaroon, these bubbleroons are absolutely adorable and pampering. With rose oil and cocoa butter, this bubble bar is a real self-indulgent treat.

Jason and the argan oil shampoo bar lushJason & The Argan Oil Shampoo Bar | I’ve loved this shampoo bar since I was first recommended it by a friend. This product might just solve all of your dry hair problems. Replacing shampoo, it foams up when you’re in the shower, and you simply apply like a regular shampoo. The argan oil (one of my favourite ingredients for anything hair-related) is insanely good for hair that needs a touch of moisture. Although I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone with fine hair as it can tend to weigh it down a little.

creamy candy bubble bar lushCreamy Candy Bubble Bar | Another one of my previous favourites. Unfortunately this one has lost it’s signature flower, but that doesn’t mean it’s lost any of it’s softening powers. With vanilla, cocoa butter and almond oil it really is a treat for your skin. And of course I’m going to mention how it smells like the sweetest candy, don’t worry, I didn’t forget.

So there are some of the new products from Lush’s summer collection, along with some of my trusty favourites! I hope you guys enjoyed this post, let me know if you’re going to try any products from the new www.lush.co.uk range!
