Ariana Grande Dangerous Woman Makeup Tutorial

Hey guys! As Ariana Grande’s latest album, Dangerous Woman, was released today, I thought it’d be fun to recreate the makeup look that she wore in the Dangerous Woman music video.

It’s actually a surprisingly easy look to do yourself, as it’s a mix of nicely blended brown shades on the lid, light contouring, and a pink/brown toned nude lip.

Products used:

Collection Illuminating Touch Concealer
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder
Makeup Revolution Fortune Favours The Brave Eyeshadow Palette
Rimmel Brow This Way Brow Gel
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara
Fleur De Force False Lashes ‘Fleur Loves’
MAC Lipliner in ‘Edge To Edge’
Soap & Glory Smoulder Kohl Eyeliner
Makeup Revolution ‘Golden Sugar’ Blush & Contour Palette

Here’s the tutorial! Hope you guys enjoy it!

Quick & Easy Valentine’s Makeup Look

Dudes, before you overlook this post thinking to yourself, “Corinne, I really don’t need to watch another video with far too many steps to be practical, with far too many products for anyone to necessarily own”, this post is different.

Yes it’s a Valentine’s Day inspired post, but it actually is really quick, easy, and there’s no red lip in sight.backgrounderI know most Valentine’s Day makeup tutorials talk about different shades of red to perfectly suit every skin colour, but the truth is that some people just don’t want to wear a red lipstick, so this look is a simple but romantic ‘loved-up’ look. All I’ve used to create this look is 6 products (and one tool, but I’m not counting that) and it takes roughly 10 minutes to be fully done.IMG_1255

Start out by prepping your skin with moisturiser, then complete your usual foundation regime. I’ve then lightly contoured with the Estée Lauder “All Over Face Compact” and highlighted with Makeup Revolution’s “Blush” Palette.

Then fill in your eyebrows and apply ‘Mink’ from Soap & Glory’s “The Perfect 10” palette all over your eyelid, then apply a little bit of ‘Nudecomer’ to define the crease of your eye, and finally a little bit of ‘Moon Mist’ to the very inner corners of your eyes.

Once you’ve finished your eyeshadow, draw a thin cat eye with eyeliner, and apply some glue to some light and fluttery lashes. I am in love with this set from Fleur De Force by Eyelure because they are actually only 3/4 of the usual size of eyelashes, so they focus on the outside of your eyes, making your eyes look super big, and your lashes natural and fluttery!

Once the glue has almost dried and become tacky, curl your lashes, and then apply the falsies, and fill in any gaps with your eyeliner. The final step is to apply Bourjois’ “Rouge Edition Velvet” in the colour ‘Nude-ist’.

And you’re done! I hope you guys enjoyed this post, and like this look, I really wanted to give you a different option to a bold red lip for Valentine’s. Let me know if you’re going to be wearing a similar look for Valentine’s Day!

What are you getting up to this Valentine’s Day?

Makeup Brush 101

Hey guys, lately I’ve been finding myself looking for brushes that I don’t have, to add to my collection. So of course this meant that I had to learn the proper uses for each of my brushes, and what brushes I was in need of.

So today I thought I’d share my knowledge with you guys! I have listed below all of the basic brushes that I have, alongside their proper uses.ultimate beginners guide to makeup brushesultimate beginners guide to makeup brushes

Obviously there are many more brushes, and some of the ones I have listed above have multiple uses, but I wanted to keep this post quite simple and easy to understand. Let me know if this post was helpful to you in the comments! I’m also taking requests and recommendations for my upcoming Christmas posts, so please feel free to leave any particular posts or prompts that you’d like to see in the comments too.

Autumn Beauty Essentials

Hey guys! Today I thought I’d take you through my autumn beauty essentials, from every plum berry and shimmer-based eyeshadow, without further adieu, here are some of the products that I recommend for any Fall/autumn look!Autumn Makeup Essentials (1)Lips

Obviously any deep red, plum or berry lipstick is what everyone flocks to, and recommends to everyone. I am no different, because I adore these shades too! But I also love nude colours for this time of year, as it can work beautifully with a statement or smokey eye look. Some of my lipstick favourites are Kate Moss for Rimmel in #107, Collection’s “Aubergine Kiss”, and Rimmel’s “Naughty Nude”. I would also recommend the corresponding lipliners with these lipsticks, as the almost double the lasting power, and ensure your lipstick stays put all day long, and doesn’t spread. I also love deep lipglosses such as Rimmel’s Vinyl gloss and Salvation lip lacquers.

Skin

While the sun may go into hiding for the autumn and winter months, your tan and contouring certainly doesn’t need to! A BB cream, or your regular foundation, a concealer and of course, bronzing is the ultimate essential for these autumnal/winter months, even if you don’t commit to any other A/W trends!Autumn Makeup Essentials (2)Eyes

Now is the perfect time to embrace gorgeously smokey eyes, shimmer and golds. I love the All About The Eyes palette, and the Heaven & Earth palette, because they include all of the necessary shades for just a shimmery gold eye, and a smokey eye! They are also both excellent stand-ins for many shades in the Naked 3 palette.

Nails

And finally, and this is a lot coming from me: dark colours are in. Reds, purples, greens, oranges, any hue that is deep and dark is perfect for this time of year. I’ve also recently discovered the Maybelline Colour Show in #232 “Rose Chic”, and I’ve never fallen in love with a nail varnish quite so quickly. It’s like painting rose gold directly onto your nails, is there anything better? I think not.

That’s it for my autumn/fall beauty essentials post, I hope you guys enjoyed it, if you did, be sure to let me know in the comments and give it a lil ‘like’, also let me know in the comments what your Fall essentials are when it comes to makeup.

Broken Doll Halloween Makeup Tutorial

As Halloween is quickly approaching, we are all suddenly wondering what outfit/costume we should wear, if we are doing anything on Halloween. So today I’m sharing with you guys a super creepy Halloween makeup look, that’s perfect for a last minute costume (that looks like you actually put a lot of thought and effort into it!)

Broken Doll Halloween Makeup Tutorial

As you can see, it’s a creepy broken doll makeup/costume look, check out my video below to see how I created this look.

All that’s left is to pair it with a super cute dress, a torn old dress, or even dungarees! The fun part it that it’s entirely up to you!

Let me know if you’re going to try this look out, or if I’ve inspired you to make it your own!

Snapchat Filter Halloween Costume

Hey guys! Today I thought I’d share a quick halloween makeup tutorial, a Snapchat filter! As most of you probably know by now, a few weeks back, Snapchat unveiled their latest features, one of which was a super cute rainbow-puke filter. And since we’re nearing halloween, I thought this would be a super easy last-minute makeup look for anyone that doesn’t have a costume yet!

So I started out by doing my regular face and basic eye makeup, just a touch of gold on the lids and wings, with a little bit of mascara.

Then you start by creating a small rainbow on your chin. I used face paints to achieve this look, but you could use liquid lipsticks, eyeshadows, or anything that will be highly pigmented when applied to your face.   Snapchat Filter Halloween Costume Makeup Tutorial Once you’ve finished the chin, you can bring the rainbow down onto your neck and chest. I’ve put a little wave in it because that’s how the filter falls when it’s on Snapchat.Snapchat Filter Halloween Costume Makeup Tutorial Now for some smaller details, I added little stars and sparkles with a white eyeliner pencil, and a little cloud attached to the end of the rainbow.Snapchat Filter Halloween Costume Makeup TutorialSnapchat Filter Halloween Costume Makeup Tutorial Finally I added some white eyeliner to my waterline and bottom lash line, making my eyes look bigger, and a lot of blush to the apples of my cheeks, because the filter makes your eyes very big, and cheeks very flushed.

I then blended my cheeks, and you’re done!Snapchat Filter Halloween Costume Makeup Tutorial

And that’s it! I hope you guys enjoyed this fun tutorial, it really is super quick and easy if you don’t have a costume preprepared, or if you don’t want to spend a lot of money on a costume! Let me know if you give this look a go for halloween!

Halloween Gingerbread Men

That’s right, today marks the official start of Halloween here on Organic By Nerve! I’ve got a lot of fun halloween themed posts for you guys for the rest of this month, so without further adieu, let’s get started with these super cute (and easy) halloween themed gingerbread men!6

Ingredients:

350g plain flour, plus extra for rolling out

1 tsp bicarbonate of soda

2 tsp ground ginger

1 tsp ground cinnamon

125g butter

175g light soft brown sugar

1 free range egg

4 tbsp golden syrup

Method:

First, preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas 4, and line two baking trays with greaseproof paper.

Then start by sifting together the flour, bicarbonate of soda, ginger and cinnamon. Then pour into your mixer. Add the butter and blend until the mix looks like breadcrumbs. Stir in the sugar.

Next, lightly beat the egg and golden syrup together, add to the mixer and mix until the mixture combines together.

Roll the dough out to whatever thickness you’d like (remember that they will spread and rise in the oven though!) on a lightly floured surface. Using your gingerbread men cutters, cut out the gingerbread men shapes and place on the baking tray, leaving a gap between each of them.

Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly golden-brown. Finally, move them onto a wire rack to finish cool properly before icing. When cooled decorate with the writing icing and make them as ghoulish or creepy as your heart desires! I’ve left some ideas for you below.

3 4 5

You can ice your gingerbread men to look like skeletons, mummies, zombies, sewn-up frakensteins, vampires, chainsaw victims, ordinary creepers or even the gingerbread man from Shrek!

That’s it for my halloween themed gingerbread men! Let me know if you’re going to recreate these, I’d love to see them!

Highlight Your Natural Beauty

When I started out this blog, I enjoyed wearing makeup, but as I have continued on with it for many months now, I’ve fallen in love with it. Now this means that I very quickly had to learn how to take better care of my skin, so that when I was wearing makeup, I was wearing it to have fun and accentuate my features and skin, not hide them.

So today I’m sharing with you guys my go to essentials for how I take care of my skin.Highlight Your Natural Beauty

Cleansing | I’ve said it many times before, but with wearing makeup, comes the responsibility of properly removing it and cleansing your skin of impurities. I don’t have a particular strenuous and crippling cleansing routine, because one of my essentials is the Nivea 3 in 1 Micellar Water, which makes the whole process easy and quick.

I also like to use the Nivea Soft Moisturiser, which as I have also mentioned before, is very light and gentle on the skin, and not greasy and heavy like many moisturisers.

I also make sure I’m taking care of my skin from the inside out. Ensuring I drink as much water as possible. It really does have an unbelievable effect on your skin, that you wouldn’t believe until you’ve committed yourself to drinking more.Highlight Your Natural BeautySkin Treat | In and out I also like to give my skin a little treat with a face mask. I feel like this really helps my skin on a much deeper level than simple cleansing. I definitely feel like an occasional skin treat like this ensures my skin is clear and feels amazing. This leads me to feel more confident in it, and not like I need to cover it up.

I think another product that is absolutely perfectly suited for a skin treat such as this is Glossier’s Moisturising Moon mask it does every little thing that I like to do for my skin. It “dives beneath the surface to instantly plump skin up with hydration, helping to smooth fine lines and restore elasticity.” And “works quietly behind the scenes to gently brighten and even out your complexion, while honey and aloe act as soothing agents.”Highlight Your Natural BeautyFlawless Finish | Now obviously some days you can feel a little unhappy with your skin. You might be having a random breakout, or suffer with a little redness, it happens to us all. So these products are my handbag essentials for those times. I like to wear a BB Cream as opposed to a foundation because they feel much lighter on the skin, and they have so many more skin benefits, rather than just clogging up your pores. I also like a light concealer because it’s perfect for if you’ve just got a touch of darkness under your eyes, or a little pesky red spot. With a light concealer, you can cover those tiny things, but still allow the rest of your naturally skin shine.

Finally, when I do chose to wear these products, I like to apply them with a beauty blender, because the product is tapped onto the skin, not smeared into your pores, leaving you with a naturally flawless finish.

Those are my essentials for highlighting, not hiding your natural beauty. Thank you to Glossier.com for working with me on this post. Let me know in the comments below what your go to skincare products/essentials are!

And, as they say at Glossier, I leave you with a great motto:Highlight Your Natural Beauty
