Notebook Obsession

Hi, my name’s Corinne and I have a problem.

WAIT BEFORE YOU LEAVE NO IT’S NOT ABOUT THAT, THIS POST IS ABOUT NOTEBOOKS DIDN’T YOU READ THE DAMN TITLE C’MON.backgrounder (1)It was a lovely day out, when I wandered into TK Maxx, and it was brought to my attention that I may have a slight obsession with notebooks. For every one that I pointed out to my pal, she very kindly reminded my that I already had 4 at home, and 3 in my basket (all of which are still entirely unused, what can I say aren’t we all intimidated by an empty notebook?)

So today I thought I’d show you guys my little collection, as a haul of sorts, with a little run down as to why I love notebooks, and why I will never stop myself from buying more.

At the end of last summer, just before the start of the school year, I decided to pick up some new school supplies to see me through the year, and one of my favourite picks was this (originally) plain lavender notebook, because it’s A5 size, so it easily fits into my backpack, but it’s still big enough for me to make notes in. I chose to decorate it with these adorable pony stickers because no amount of responsibility will make me grow up.IMG_1308This trio is one of the main reasons that I love notebooks so much, because they can be so tiny and easy to slip into any bag. I like using these for writing down advice, and just random quotes and typography that I like.

I also really like that they aren’t lined, so that gives you the little bit more freedom for doodling and just jotting down anything you fancy.IMG_1306This notebook I picked up from TK Maxx, because I didn’t have a notebook with ring binding, and these are usually the easier to write in because you can just rotate all of the pages back, meaning you don’t ruin the spine by bending the notebook. I also love the cover of this one, because I feel like it inspires me to never hold myself back, and to just create.IMG_1315This is one of my older notebooks, I picked it up in a stationery store, primarily because it’s a full A4 sized notebook, but also it’s really satisfying to use. If you’re a notebook entusiast such as myself, you’ll understand why; it’s big, it has a super-soft faux-leather covering, and the pages are thick and lined, so it’s like a good old fashioned classic journal.IMG_1316And finally these 2, both of which I also picked up from TK Maxx, again they are both A5, but the lavender one has another super-soft cover that has “Stay Classy” printed onto it in silver text, and the other is a hard-backed notebook with “Stuff I’m Likely To Forget” (how perfectly apt for a notebook am I right?!) written in a gorgeous gold font.IMG_1314

That’s it for my little notebook haul, I hope you guys enjoyed it! Do you also love a good notebook? Let me know in the comments!

Valentine’s Day: Lush “Lot’s Of Love” Gift Set

It’s Valentine’s Day in 4 days now, so today I’m showing you guys one of the best Valentine’s Day ultimate hacks; A Lush gift set! It’s perfect if your other half is obsessed with Lush, and it’s perfect if you really don’t know what to get them!IMG_1038In the “Lot’s Of Love” gift set, you get 6 of some of the cutest love-themed products that Lush have to offer, and I’m going to talk you through them all, alongside one bonus product!IMG_1053

Tisty Tosty | This bath bomb is based on a medieval love potion. It contains seven real rosebuds and has a gorgeous scent of geranium, jasmine and rose, said to be toning and balancing, and floral and seductive. It also makes for a really pretty and relaxing bath.

Oral Pleasure | Now this product is not included in the “Lot’s Of Love” gift set, but fortunately this was gifted to me, and I had never heard of it before so I thought I’d share it with you guys! In this pot you have ‘toothy tabs’, which can be used as a toothpaste substitute. I know it seems confusing, but when used properly it is like their shampoo bars, that foams up incredibly. All you have to do is chew this tablet and then start brushing your teeth! It creates a white foam, so don’t let the colour (or name!) put you off!IMG_1055Rose Jam | One of my favourite products from Lush, a bubbleroon! This products smells so relaxing, and the fact that it also contains rose oil means that it’s balancing, softening and moisturising for the skin. I also really love that it can be used more than once as you can break it in half. That’s twice the amount of relaxation, in one product!

A French Kiss | I had always been drawn to this bubble bar every time I’ve been in Lush, but I’ve never actually picked it up, so I was so excited when I saw that it was included in this gift set! It smells so lovely, and I really love the way Lush describes it, “Crumble under running water for a paradisaical bath full of the lavender and rosemary scents of Southern France.” Definitely one of the most romantic products, perfect for this time of year!IMG_1058Lover Lamp | Do you want a romantic bath that smells like chocolate orange, moisturises your skin with the most delicate cocoa butter, and leaves tiny red hearts floating a top a billion bubbles? Look no further; this is the bath bomb for you. It’s perfect for a girly night in, or first thing in the morning to keep your skin super soft and smelling gorgeous all day long.

Unicorn Horn | I don’t really need to go in to much detail with this product do I? We’ve all seen it, heard of it or tried it. This bath bomb has been proven to increase serotonin levels (they make you feel happy and cheery!), and it’s just super cute. And if Lush opens their description for this product with “Unicorns are probably real. But, even if they’re not (don’t worry they definitely are) you won’t mind!” you know this bubble bar is a must buy.

Sex Bomb | This bath bomb is geared towards soothing your worries, and relieving anxiety. It’s main ingredient is Jasmine, which obviously is super relaxing, but it also said to be an ancient aphrodisiac, so again, it’s perfect for Valentine’s Day!

That’s it for the “Lot’s Of Love” gift set from Lush, perfect for if you still haven’t quite figured out what you want to give to that special someone this Sunday!

Please share this post if you enjoyed it, and help out your friends who might not know what to get for Valentine’s yet!

Pancake Day Topping Inspiration

Hey guys, as pancake day is tomorrow, I thought I’d collect and share some of my favourite topping ideas for you guys to try out!

backgrounder (9)IMG_1107I love a classic lemon and sugar combo, but for this post I wanted to share some classic and newer ideas for topping your pancakes tomorrow!IMG_1127

A stack with maple syrup and sugar | This is definitely a good old fashioned topping idea. If you really want to go all out on pancake day, a hearty stack of pancakes, drizzled in maple syrup and sprinkled with sugar, is absolutely perfect for celebrating in a classic way.

Nutella and strawberries (and icing sugar) | Two beautiful foods, coming together for a beautiful day. Here I spread Nutella completely over one half of the pancake, and then folded it over to make a pancake sandwich. I’ve put the strawberries beside the pancake so you can truly appreciate the flavour of everything here, which you should, because everything here is just too delicious. I also decided to dust over the strawberries and pancakes with icing sugar, because it’s just as sweet, but a lot more ‘Instagram-able’ with icing sugar.

Whipped cream and strawberries | Again, delicious foods both individually, and together, so put them atop a pancake and you’re guaranteed to enjoy pancake day on a whole new level. Plus you know, you’ve got spare whipped cream and strawberries ready for Valentines Day, just saying.

Banana and pecan nuts | I know this isn’t your ordinary pancake topping, but it really is a tasty combo. Plus it’s really healthy! So if you don’t want to go overboard with chocolate spread or sugar, this is quite a healthy alternative.

Chocolate sauce and pecan nuts | This is obviously similar to the banana and pecan combo, but with a little naughty treat, because dude, pancake day is only once a year.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, and got some inspo for your pancakes tomorrow! Check out my entire Food section of my blog HERE for more recipes!

BLOGMAS Day 23 // Christmas Day Outfit Inspiration

IT’S CHRISTMAS EVE EVE!!! Can you guys believe it? Of course you can, it’s practically been Christmas on my blog for 23 days now.

Since we’re only 2 sleeps away, today I wanted show you guys what I’ll be wearing for Christmas this year!

Obviously we start out with PJs, so I’ll be rocking these rather festive joggers with an ordinary t-shirt. (Don’t want to overdo the Christmas cheer first thing in the morning do we?)morning xmas outfitNext we’re onto the epitome of Christmas day. Well, maybe not the epitome, but it’s certainly a massive part of it, the Christmas jumper! I’ve thrown mine on with one of my wardrobe staples, a black skater skirt, some thick black tights (it is still Winter after all!) my antler headband and black brogues. day xmas outfitNow for many of us, the outfits stop there, hell, for some of us the outfits more realistically stop at the PJs, but I wanted to put together a ‘dressier’ option, for those of us that are attending any parties, just going out for the evening, or even if you just want to dress up for dinner with your family.

So for this look, I’ve kept my skater skirt, but added a sparkly halter neck crop top and swapped my tights and brogues, for the most sparkly heeled boots imaginable.evening xmas outfitWouldn’t you agree? I adore these shoes but they are truly made for the festive season, and to be shown off at parties.xmas outfit shoes

Those are my 3 outfits for Christmas day, let me know in the comments below what you’re up to on the big day, and if you’ll be dressing up or if you’ll be staying in your PJs all day long!

BLOGMAS Day 11 // The Ultimate Guide To Christmas Decor

That’s right, I’m tackling this today. It’s the 11th of December and it is no longer ‘too soon’ to have your Christmas decorations up, so today I’m taking you through my own little Winter Wonderland, and sharing my favourite decorations.Ultimate Guide To Christmas Decor (1)The Tree | If nothing else, this is the biggest Christmas staple there is. This year I’ve gone for a rose gold and silver theme on my tree, topped with snow spray on the tips of the branches, and focussed around the lower half of the tree. This tree is actually artificial, and we bought it from Tesco a few years ago, but it’s lasting really well, and even has built in fairy lights, so all I have to do is plug it in, add some baubles and it’s done!

Countdown | We’ve also got this adorable little chalkboard that helps us count down the “days ’til Christmas”. Something like this really helps get everyone into the Christmas spirit, but also helps as a handy little guide for how long you’ve got left to get everything ready!Ultimate Guide To Christmas Decor (2)Fibre Optic Tree | We’ve also got a smaller fibre optic tree. I find that these trees are perfect if you don’t want to go overboard with decorating, but you’d still like an element of Christmas decor in your room. All you’ve got to do is plug it in, and you’re done!Ultimate Guide To Christmas Decor (3)Christmas Ribbon | As I saw these ribbons were on offer, I thought they were the perfect little detail to add to a room. I’ve got this pattern stretching across one side of the room, and another ribbon that says Merry Christmas on the other side of the room. Ultimate Guide To Christmas Decor (4)Paper Chains | I bought these cutesy Christmas paper chains from Paperchase. I thought they were just too cute to say no to, and they’re perfectly in keeping with the Merry Christmas ribbon.Ultimate Guide To Christmas Decor (5)Merry Christmas Sign | Again, this type of decoration is sometimes all you need to transform your space for the festive season. I love this sign because it’s sparkly and quite big, so you don’t need to over-decorate to compensate for it being small. (As if there’s such a thing as over-decorating when it comes to Christmas!) Ultimate Guide To Christmas Decor (6)Winter Wonderland | I think this decoration is one of my favourites, because it’s fibre optic, so similarly to the tree, all you need to do is plug it in, and you’re set! Plus the polar bear and snowmen are too cute to not feature.Ultimate Guide To Christmas Decor (7)Stockings | Of course, no Christmas area is complete without stockings. After all, Santa has to know where to leave you little gifts doesn’t he? You’re not going to make things difficult for Santa, are you? I don’t think so.Ultimate Guide To Christmas Decor (8)

And there you have it, my Ultimate Guide To Christmas Decor! Let me know in the comments how you decorate your space for the festive season!

BLOGMAS Day 4 // Bedroom Christmas Decor

Hey guys! As slowly but surely, everyone is warming to the idea of decorating for Christmas, I thought I’d share with you how I’ve decorated some of my spaces, starting with my room!

So here’s a sneaky little overview. I’ve obviously gotten some season-appropriate bedsheets, covered in a ski-themed pattern, and a mini Christmas tree. (and my advent calendars covering my desk!)IMG_0030I actually added my scarf to look like a blanket here, because I think the pattern of it is very suitable for Christmas and winter, and it matches my bedding.

(And I may have bought an antler headband that I can’t wait to show off until Christmas day, so it’s currently being shown off by teddy here.)IMG_0053IMG_0041On my bedside table I have a winter wolf/fox that is wearing a little winter hat, a tiny deer that has the most fabulous gold sparkly feet, my colour changing light up heart, and a winter-wonderland candle.IMG_0033A stocking is an absolute must-have for this time of year, otherwise where is Santa going to leave your presents?! I’ve got this cute one that has an additional pocket for this little snowman, who guides Santa in regards to present-leaving.IMG_0055snowflakes gif.gifAnd finally, fairy lights anywhere that fairy lights can fit. I absolutely love them all year around, but this season is at the very heart of fairy-light-appreciation/acceptance, so I like to have them everywhere.

That’s it for how I’ve decorated my room for the festive season, have you decorated your room yet? Or have you still yet to buy your tree? Let me know in the comments what your favourite Christmas-themed decoration is.

Victoria Secret-Inspired Halloween Makeup Tutorial

Hey guys! As it’s Halloween tomorrow, I thought it would be only fitting to squeeze one last Halloween themed makeup post in!

So I went for a look that I have been wanting to do for a long time now, a Victoria Secret Angel-inspired makeup look.Fotor0103019358Check out my video below to see how I achieved this look!

And that’s it for my Halloween themed posts for this year! I hope you guys enjoyed this series, let me know if you did in the comments, and if you’d like more themed series’ in the future. (For example, Blogmas anyone?)

Guide To Halloween Decor

Hey guys! I’m back once again, with another Halloween-themed post! Today I thought since Halloween is fast approaching, I’d give you guys my ultimate guide to Halloween decor. Whether you only have a small area to decorate, or if you’d like to go all-out all over your house, I’ve got you covered!Guide To Halloween Decor  Just a touch of spidery spook | These webs really are quite cheap, and it can be all you need to bring a Halloween touch to a room!Guide To Halloween Decor Balloons | If you’re not really into spooky decor, then you can  opt for a much more cutesy decoration, like these balloons. They are in-keeping with the Halloween theme because they’re orange and black, but much more suitable for if you don’t like scary over the top decorations.Guide To Halloween Decor Guide To Halloween Decor Concentrated creep | This type of decoration is perfect if you don’t have a really large area to decorate, but you still want to get into the spirit of Halloween. Just add some fake spider webs to some existing decoration in the area, like I have here with the lanterns. Then add some Halloween-themed tea light candle holders, and a sign, maybe that says ‘Happy Halloween’ or something spooky.Guide To Halloween Decor Guide To Halloween Decor Guide To Halloween Decor Halloween Bunting | If you’ve got the room for it, I’d definitely recommend having Halloween-themed bunting up. This is because it brings the whole room together, and it can be one of the only pieces of decoration you have up, but it’s plenty to bring a Halloween vibe.

Eerie Balloon | I little trick I’ve picked up is, if you use double-sided tape and put it on the back of a balloon, you can stick it up anywhere, and it looks really creepy, as if it’s floating in mid air, on its own.Guide To Halloween Decor Pumpkins | If nothing else, you should at least have carved a pumpkin!Guide To Halloween Decor Fairy Lights | If you’re into super cute and reasonably girly things like I am, fairy lights are suitable for almost every holiday and event; trust me. These cute pumpkin ones were very cheap, and are so light, then can be put up anywhere, and they’ll last for the whole season!Guide To Halloween Decor

That’s it for my guide to Halloween decor, I hope I inspired you guys and you can take some ideas from this post, let me know in the comments if you’ve got any more tips for Halloween (or Christmas, let’s be real, it’s coming up!) decoration ideas that I haven’t mentioned!

Halloween Pumpkin Carving Competition

This past week, myself and my brother jumped right into the Halloween spirit by having a pumpkin carving competition!

I chose to carve Jack Skellington into my pumpkin, as he is immediately recognisable, and makes for a super cool pumpkin.DSCN2706 My brother actually went for quite a similar design, not Jack Skellington, it was simply a creepy pumpkin face.DSCN2707 DSCN2708 Once we had cleaned up our pumpkins and tidied up the edges, we were ready to put the candles in them, and fully appreciate them.DSCN2713

I hope that you guys enjoyed this post, don’t forget to share your pumpkins with me, I’d love to see them! You can tag me in them on Twitter or Instagram @corinnebygrave
