Summer Favourites

Hey guys! I know, I know, “disappear for a month and then just come back with a ‘Hey guys!’ and expect us all to not have any questions, really Corinne?” I am sorry for disappearing without warning, but I think I had a moment when I realised that as I was finally happy with the content that I was posting, I got scared to ruin the streak of posts that I actually liked. I finally was happy with every element of my posts, something which I hadn’t felt since I started, over a year and a half ago now. I realised that I didn’t want to ruin this streak of content that I was proud of, for the sake of sticking to a schedule that I implemented a year ago.

Work In Progress // Silverstone, Derren Brown & Our Final Goodbyes

Hey guys! Here we are, the end a Work In Progress’ weekly podcast series!

This week we thought that in keeping with it being the end of our podcast series, and officially the start of Summer, that we’d have a little chat about what each of us would like to get up to over the Summer holidays. Gemma chose 5 events that she’s attending over the next few months to discuss, and I chose 6, I got a bonus one as mine were reasonably hilarious, things that I’d like to do over our break.

I shan’t give away what we talked about, so that you can enjoy the podcast for yourselves, so here is the final week of a Work In Progress!

I know I say it all of the time, and I know it type it even more, but thank you for listening to, and reading my rambles, it means a lot to us. Another major thank you to GCABray for helping a girl out throughout this endeavour. I can’t believe one day I offhandedly mentioned that we should do a podcast throughout June, and you made it happen.

As we mentioned in the podcast, this is the final instalment of our series, but next week we are sharing a bonus ‘blooper reel’, that features all of our mistakes and abrasive laughing fits. So if you haven’t quite had enough of a Work In Progress, don’t worry, we’re not going anywhere yet.

New Lush Products | The Summer Collection Reveal

Fotor0817114725new lush products haulRecently Lush have just brought out their summer collection! So, keen to have a look, I grabbed some from the new collection, alongside some of my trusty regular favourites, to talk about for you guys today.new lush products first impressionsFrozen bath bomb lushFrozen Bath Bomb | “Do you want to have a bath bomb? Do you want to splash and play?” This bath bomb, much like the movie it’s based on, is utterly mesmerising. With the uplifting scent of grapefruit oil, combined with the inside packed with silver glitter, when having a bath with this bath bomb; you really will let everything go. (I think this would be a favourite for Evie and Ruby, my cousins!)Intergalactic bath bomb lush Intergalactic Bath Bomb | This bath bomb is very quietly creeping into my favourite bath bomb spot. With it’s name, and a description of “Ever wondered what bathing in deep space would be like? Invite the cosmos into your bathroom with this sexy, interstellar bomb and become the guardian of your own galaxy.” This bath bomb caters to many of my greatest loves. It’s colourful, galaxy-themed and smells like peppermint.rose jam bubble bar lushRose Jam Bubbleroon | Do you want to feel as though you’ve just been moisturised from the heavens and given a bunch of flowers? Then this is the bubbleroon for you. Essentially a bubble bar, but shaped like a macaroon, these bubbleroons are absolutely adorable and pampering. With rose oil and cocoa butter, this bubble bar is a real self-indulgent treat.

Jason and the argan oil shampoo bar lushJason & The Argan Oil Shampoo Bar | I’ve loved this shampoo bar since I was first recommended it by a friend. This product might just solve all of your dry hair problems. Replacing shampoo, it foams up when you’re in the shower, and you simply apply like a regular shampoo. The argan oil (one of my favourite ingredients for anything hair-related) is insanely good for hair that needs a touch of moisture. Although I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone with fine hair as it can tend to weigh it down a little.

creamy candy bubble bar lushCreamy Candy Bubble Bar | Another one of my previous favourites. Unfortunately this one has lost it’s signature flower, but that doesn’t mean it’s lost any of it’s softening powers. With vanilla, cocoa butter and almond oil it really is a treat for your skin. And of course I’m going to mention how it smells like the sweetest candy, don’t worry, I didn’t forget.

So there are some of the new products from Lush’s summer collection, along with some of my trusty favourites! I hope you guys enjoyed this post, let me know if you’re going to try any products from the new www.lush.co.uk range!

A Day Out: The Aquarium

Summer days can pass by so quickly, and sometimes can leave you feeling like you haven’t really done much. So to make sure that we make the most of our time, myself and my friends decided this week, to visit the aquarium!

It’s a great day out, whether you go with your friends or family, a big group or a small group. From £38.70 for a family of 4, to £10.35 for a student (Children under 4 are free) it’s also not an expensive afternoon out. There’s not much else to say apart from how much you’re guaranteed to enjoy your visit, you can attend talks, or just wander around and take pictures.

So today I thought I’d share with you guys some of the pictures I took during our visit!

Additional information is available at http://www.national-aquarium.co.uk/ DSCN1534 DSCN1539 DSCN1541 DSCN1542 DSCN1547 DSCN1554 DSCN1557 DSCN1562 DSCN1575 DSCN1578 DSCN1585 DSCN1597 DSCN1612 DSCN1622 DSCN1623 DSCN1635 DSCN1639 DSCN1641

I hope you guys enjoyed these pictures, let me know if you did and if you’ll be planning on visiting your local aquarium soon!

Get Ready For Summer & Essentials

Exams are all finally coming to a close, and summer is getting closer by the minute! So today I am sharing with you guys, some of my summer essentials!DSCN0691

So obviously for summer, you need to be more concious about what your makeup is doing for your skin. I use a moisturiser with an SPF of 15, and if you wear foundation, I’d recommend one like Rimmel’s Wake Me Up, which also has an SPF of 15.

The next essential is obviously deodorant! I opt for a 48 hour one, because during the summer you don’t want to have to constantly apply it, but you also don’t want to go without it, so I would recommend keeping an eye out for specifically 24-48 hour ones especially if you’ll be camping, and going to festivals.DSCN0681

Another essential that is geared toward low-maintenance and festival go-ers is John Freida’s Frizz-Ease 3 day straight. Just spray this onto damp hair, before you dry and straighten it, and your hair will remain frizz-free and straight for up to 3 days!

Sunglasses are an obvious must-have for summer time, without a question. You can even choose some reflective ones that not only shelter your eyes, but look awesome in pictures!

My next essential is a travel-friendly bottle. You’ve got to keep hydrated if you’re sitting out in the sun, or just generally travelling around, so I purchased a Sistema bottle that you can completely close, so you’re not at risk of any leaks in your bag.

And a cute little backpack, so you can have everything with you on the go! Finally, for me, nothing is easier and more suited fashion-wise, for summer, than a playsuit or a dress!DSCN0672

Also, some not-quite-essentials, but I think summer is the perfect time for light and bright colours on your nails, so I’m loving Maybelline’s Colour Show 60 second nail varnish in absolute white. This brand dries so quickly, they’re perfect for summer when you don’t want to spend ages on your nails but still want them to look cute, just paint and go! And also a cute headband, it’s perfect for if you don’t want to do any intricate styles with your hair, so if you’re a festival go-er nothing is better than headbands, dry shampoo and braids!

Those are my summer essentials, I hoped you guys enjoyed! Let me know in the comments below what your summer essentials are.
